I’m a Community Based Researcher where I focus on the intentional integration of community in every step have worked on coalitions and projects focusing on foreign policy, family planning, and sexual and reproductive health, rights, and justice for Black women and birthing people transnationally. Currently, I serve as co-investigator on a NIH-funded Maternal Health Research Center of Excellence to address disparities in maternal morbidities and mortalities in the Gulf South. The work is in partnership with Tulane University where I co-leads efforts to incorporate community expertise and priorities in all areas of the Center. My research interest is climate change impacts on Black birthing people transnationally. I lead several projects at this intersection in collaboration with partners in the US, Sierra Leone, and Puerto Rico.
